MY STORY

My name is Debora Raquel and I guess what you could say is that I love music. Through out my life music has been a passion of mine, with me first playing the piano to then the guitar and finally singing. After realising that I didn’t want to be a musician or an artist, I came to an understanding that my place in the creative industry would be in journalism. I am now at university studying a BA (Hons) in Music Journalism.

The Uni Life

I am generally a shy quiet person, so going to university by myself with no friends was frightening. It was good for the freedom but with whom could I experience that freedom with. I genuinely thought I wouldn’t make friends and just be alone for the next 3 years lol. Of course like usual I was being overly dramatic and met my new partners in crime.

Once lectures started, the overthinking followed after. What if I don’t do well? Do I really need to go uni? I don’t know if I am understanding? But I had to remember that I wasn’t the only one thinking this, everyone around me was in the same sinking ship.

Now that I am finishing my first semester, finishing off my assignments, I’m excited for what other challenges university can bring. You know, I’m really up for a good fight.
